Cops ramp up long weekend testing

A STATEWIDE police operation saw an increased number of Riverland motorists subjected to roadside drug and alcohol testing over the long weekend.
SAPOL’s Operation Safe Long Weekend – which began on Friday, June 11 – concluded at midnight last night.
It is understood police units from Adelaide travelled to the region to support local SAPOL branches during the operation, which featured additional officers and unmarked cars. The local influx coincided with the region hosting a number of events
Results from Operation Safe Long Weekend will be in next week’s Pioneer.
