Connie’s flair a welcome entry for Waikerie Hospital patients

THE Waikerie Hospital has topped off its redeveloped main entrance with a flourish, with a full wall photo print from a local photographer now brightening the reception.
Avid Waikerie amateur photographer Connie Little had her work immortalised in a place of honour across the wall of the Waikerie Hospital entrance recently, following completion of the hospital car park and main entrance redevelopments.
“The hospital staff were looking for a Waikerie-esque photo to use in their main entrance, and Kelly McKinnon showed Murray Dalgleish my Facebook page,” Ms Little said.
“Murray chose a shot of the Waikerie ferry as seen from the clifftops, a photo I took last year.
“I was a bit hesitant when he told me that was the photo he wanted, but he was certain and now, I think it looks fantastic in the entrance.”
Ms Little is part of the Waikerie Photography Club, and has won many awards for her photos.
“I bought my first camera over 15 years ago, but it’s only been the past four or five years that I really became passionate about photography,” she said.
“I love taking photos around the region; we’re lucky to have so many scenic and interesting places. The lighting and river scenery is always beautiful.”
The photo was printed by local business Peter Lang Prints and can be seen at the Waikerie Hospital reception entrance.
“I was more than happy to donate the photo to the hospital,” Ms Little said.
“It’s my way of giving back to a community hospital that does so much for us.”
Ms Little’s photography is also available as postcards and photos sold at the Rain Moth Gallery.
