Bradtke duo honoured at Loxton Cemetery

A ROAD in a Riverland cemetery has been renamed to honour two prominent locals who helped maintain it.
The main drive in the Loxton Cemetery was renamed Bradtke Drive, after Otto and Leon Bradtke, following a decision by the District Council of Loxton Waikerie late last year.
A new street sign and two benches honouring the father-son duo were installed at the cemetery recently.
“Otto and Leon Bradtke were funeral directors in Loxton and they, particularly Leon, also kept the records for the Loxton Cemetery for an extended period of time,” said David Beaton, District Council of Loxton Waikerie CEO.
“The installation of the two benches and the renaming of the road in the cemetery were done as a tribute to them.
“A proposal for these changes was brought to and passed by the Community Award Assessment Panel, and then by council at their meeting in September.”
