Berri Lions Club’s generous donation

A LOCAL Lions club presented Berri’s Foodbank SA with a cheque recently to help support its school breakfast program.
The Berri Lions Club donate $4000 annually to Foodbank SA to help “feed the kids at school”.
Berri Lions Club president Karin Knowling said it was an honour to make the donation.
“We do many fundraisers over the year such as Bunnings sausage sizzles and things like that,” she said.
“Each year we always put aside $4000 for Foodbank SA’s Berri branch.
“We usually divide the money in half and give them $2000 twice a year, but because of COVID we gave it to them all at once.”
Foodbank SA Riverland branch manager Peter Smith said the cheque would go a long way.
“This money goes directly to our school breakfast program and will help feed lots of kids,” he said.
“With it we will be able to buy things like more milk and cereals and give them out to all the schools that have breakfast programs.
“We’re thankful for the Berri Lions Club and they do great work.”
