Adelady puts the Riverland on the map

THE Riverland was put on the map last week when two well-known Adelaide media personalities stepped foot in the region.
Hayley Pearson and Lauren De Cesare – famously known as Adelady – arrived in the Riverland early last week to film brand new episodes of their television show on Channel 9, along with take photos and interviews for their website and social media pages.
The duo started off in Renmark and visited various local businesses such as the Frames in Paringa, Dear Lyla in Renmark, Salena Estate in Bookpurnong and Nippy’s in Moorook.
Salena Estate Wines marketing manager Salena Franchitto said it was “exciting” to welcome the women to the winery and its new restaurant.
“This was the second time Hayley and Lauren visited Salena Estate but the first time they got to see the restaurant,” she said.
“Last time they visited was two years ago, so the idea of having a restaurant was in the works.
“They were eager to see it and try our authentic Italian food and they loved it.
“They met our chef, Vincenzo, tried a few different things on the menu, and went for a restaurant tour.
“The bathrooms were a highlight for them because they loved the quirky design and chandeliers – it was right up their alley.”
Miss Franchitto said the duo enjoyed exploring the winery.
“The girls got to try wine from our tanks and barrels and I took them on top of one of the tanks for a view of our whole vineyard,” she said.
“Their energy was incredible and they gave everything a go, it was great.”
Nippy’s joint managing director Ben Knispel said the duo’s “easy-going personalities” made the day enjoyable.
“They were interested in learning about how we make our flavoured milk so they visited our Moorook site and learnt about the process,” he said.
“I also gave them a general overview on our citrus and the juice we make.
“I have never been on television before so I was a bit nervous but the girls’ energy and bubbly nature made the day very enjoyable and I had lots of fun.
“It was great they promoted local businesses and the region in general.”
