A different kind of tasting experience

RENMARK’s Twenty Third Street Distillery has brought the distillery experience to people in the comfort of their own home, by streaming virtual tastings on social media.
The distillery streams free virtual spirit tastings on Facebook every Friday evening at 5pm.
Renmark’s Twenty Third Street Distillery venue manager Jessica Zimmermann said the virtual tastings will “open one’s mind and senses to new dimensions”.
“Since we had to close due to government restrictions, we wanted to do something to keep customers happy and give people something to do during isolation,” she said.
“It was a collective idea and I’m proud of all the distillery staff here in Renmark and in Adelaide.
“We want people to be immersed on our obsession with the craft as our distillers’ chart new territories each Friday through our award-winning ranges.”
Mrs Zimmermann encouraged people to join the virtual tasting experience.
“The packages for what’s used in our videos can be purchased at the distillery or delivered to your own home,” she said.
“Every week will be something different so people get to try different things.
“Cocktails, whiskey, vodka, gin and brandy are just a few of the different drinks tasted each week and soon we will mix it up and host a virtual pizza masterclass.”
Mrs Zimmermann said the response has been positive.
“So far we’ve had many views and our prices have increased,” she said.
“The videos are filmed in our Adelaide store on Melbourne Street and it’s been extremely popular in Adelaide also.”
“We also sell tasting mats with our products and sell cocktail kits for $70 which included most things to make the perfect cocktail.”
The virtual tasting has attracted a number of high-profile participants, including Adelaide Crows players Rory Sloane, Taylor Walker, and Bryce Gibbs, who all broadcasted their experience to their strong social media following.
