$10k up for grabs, thanks to Mardi Gras

STEPHANIE THOMPSON
LOXTON community groups have until Friday to get their applications in for a share of $10,000.
The Loxton Mardi Gras small grants are made possible due to community fundraising and ambassador contributions from the annual event.
Loxton Mardi Gras chairperson Liz Dymmott said the committee is hoping for more applications.
“People are welcome to put their applications in,” she said.
“It is open to anyone who is a non-profit organisation within the Loxton and districts area.
“We do ask that they contribute to the Mardi Gras in some way if they do receive funding.”
Successful applicants will be notified at the upcoming Loxton Mardi Gras AGM to be held at the Loxton Hotel on Tuesday, May 25.
A successful Loxton Mardi Gras event was held in February and collectively, the ambassadors raised almost $23,000.
Mrs Dymmott thanked event sponsors and locals for supporting the event and enabling funds to be given back to the community.
