Riverland Vietnam Veterans will host a charity bowling event next weekend, in a bid to raise money for the Royal Flying Doctor Service and Riding for the Disabled.

Event organiser Max Binding said the bowling day, to be held at the Berri Bowling Club, is expected to raise over $2000.

“We welcome all bowlers, both male and female,” he said.

“Teams of four will play off and there’s raffles and meat trays to be won.”

The $50 entry fee per team will go towards the two charities and single entries are also welcome.

“The winning team will have their names engraved on a charity shield presented by Riverland Real Estate,” Mr Binding said.

“We hope it will become a yearly tradition for the winners of the previous year to hand the shield down to the new team.”

A barbecue will start sizzling at 11.30am, with bowls to follow at 1pm.

Registration closes on Thursday, July 24 at 5pm.
