Sebastian Calderon’s story on Loxton born-and-bred Ben Avery winning the South Australian Journalist of the Year award three times was an inspirational story. I loved where Ben said his excellent teachers at Loxton High School taught him respect and trust. So many highly respected and award-winning journalists like Ben, along with ABC radio announcers, have ‘cut their teeth’ here in the Riverland. Ben is a Riverland legend.
