Waikerie opp shop reopens

AS COVID-19 restrictions gradually begin to ease, Waikerie residents were “delighted” last week when a popular opp shop reopened its doors for limited hours.
With a large backlog of summer and winter donations to make its way through, the Waikerie Rotary Club opp shop is having a sale on all summer clothing as it returns to regular trading hours.
Waikerie opp shop committee spokesperson Karen Richardson said many customers expressed their delight that the doors had finally opened.
“Much to the delight of both volunteers and the general public, the Waikerie Rotary Club opp shop opened last week for a limited time,” she said.
“Trade was brisk as the recent cooler weather meant there was a high demand for winter clothing.
“Due to the COVID-19 closure, the planned pre-Easter end of season sale did not happen, but all summer clothing is now on sale for $1.”
Mrs Richardson said the volunteers are looking forward to seeing their regular clients.
“We would like to thank our customers for their understanding as we have not been able to take donations for the past six weeks,” she said.
“Many people have used this time to clean out their wardrobes and are keen to donate, but we ask that they hold onto these for a while longer until volunteers sort through a huge backlog of clothing already in stock.
“This is a much-needed service for the residents of Waikerie.”
The Waikerie Rotary Club opp shop will be open Monday to Friday from 9.30am to 4.30pm, and on Saturday from 9.30am to 11.30am.
