Local teddies get a Flinders check-up

LOCAL Flinders University SA Rural Medical Program students have paid Riverland schools a visit to ensure children’s teddies are in the best of health.
In a recent Teddy Bear Hospital visit to local schools, local children and Flinders students worked their way through a total teddy examination together, checking for a healthy heart, ears, throat, bones and assisting with the teddy’s vaccination.
The aim of the program was to make sure children understood doctors and hospitals can be friendly, welcoming places.
“We couldn’t ask for a better outcome, and look forward to more Teddy Bear hospitals in the Riverland over coming weeks,” a Flinders University SA Rural Medical Program student said.
