RENMARK man Richard Fewster was on hand to witness this “lucky kangaroo” escape the floodwaters in Renmark on the weekend.

The kangaroo was having trouble staying afloat and “close to drowning”

“Thankfully two guys in a tinnie saw the distressed animal, grabbed it by the scruff off the neck and towed it into the shore,” said Mr Fewster, who took a series of photographs, including these two.

“Once on the land the obviously very tired and slightly confused animal appeared to realise it had been saved and hopped towards the guys in the tinnie as if to say thank you."
