WHAT'S THE issue here - do people want green lawns or food security?
As of now, South Australian food producers in the Riverland can only take 34 per cent of their water entitlement.
Effectively that means they can produce 34 per cent of their potential crop.
So when water allocations are increased that means more food. Food producers (irrigators) should get their 100 per cent of their entitlement before green lawns.
If Adelaide people care about food security then they will wait a little longer before turning on their taps.
