School relocation
THE RELOCATION of the Riverland Special School has been ongoing since 2004 when the governments wanted to redevelop the existing site when there was around 40 plus students.
Embellished headline
IN REFERENCE to the police report headed 'Teen bashed at fundraiser' in a recent edition of The Murray Pioneer (30/3/10), I would like to express my disappointment in your reporting of the incident.
I THINK I am becoming cynical and disillusioned by the current election campaign.
Is it me or are the Liberal and Labor political messages becoming tiresome?
Call me outdated, but I want to know what the candidates for the seat of Barker intend to pursue for the good of the voters, not just recite the party's propaganda.
What local issues are they going to champion on my behalf? Don’t just fall into line behind the party elders/leaders, my vote counts so use it with care.
I read with amusement about the lightning visit by lead Greens Senate candidate, Ms Wright, to the region.
Her visit was to inform herself of the issues that are important to the people living in the Riverland. Where has she been for the past three years?
This election has been coming for three years and she leaves it to week three of the election campaign to inform herself. For a party which is fundamentally focused on the environment I feel betrayed by her and her party’s actions.
Like in the state election, the Greens blow into town, say a few words, hightail it back to the leafy suburbs and expect you and I to vote for them in the Senate.
Sorry, but 'no banana’. What can you do for me Ms Wright? It’s not what I can do for you.
Pay attention Patrick Secker, as your past record is not that glowing either.
I acknowledge that Barker is a large electorate, but you put your hand up for the job, so let’s see some return on the investment that we the voters have entrusted in you.
