SCHAPELLE CORBY'S on the cover of Woman’s Day again.

THE BARMERA Residential Care Auxiliary would like to thank the Community for its generous support through the last financial year.

The economy hasn't been so good for many in our area, which makes us appreciate the help we receive even more, in particular the donations we receive from Berri Barmera Council, Barmera Hotel Motel Board, Palms Bingo, Barmera Bowling Club, Barmera Quilters, and the families of Bonney Lodge, Hawdon House and Cogan Wing residents for their memorial donations.
Thank you also to the volunteers who run our opportunity shop in Barwell Avenue, and to all who support it with saleable items and their custom.
We are sorry that a proposed bathroom renovation for Hawdon House has not been able to proceed, though it is still urgently required.
It has however given us the funds to purchase seven air bed/chairs so more nursing home residents can spend time out of their room and in the company of others.
Other purchases are a club chair, a multi lifter, two pressure mattresses, a thermoscan, 22 stackable chairs, a bird bath and curtains.
In total, $20,000 has been raised this year, with $8620 being net profit from the op shop and approximately $30,000 spent on purchasing equipment needed to improve the comfort of loved ones in care.
Thank you all. We extend an invitation to anyone who would like to attend our monthly meetings, held on the first Monday of each month in St Luke’s chapel, Bonney Lodge, at 1.30pm.
