Local sinners are being punished. First a plague of locusts (The Pioneer, 7/4/10) and floods are coming soon. What’s next? Death of first-born? Or worse, a beer price hike?

Now that Mike Fuller has a bit of spare time on his hands, maybe now is a good time to crank up the Barmera Berri Ratepayers Association, of which Mike is the chairman and founder. Maybe they can lobby the council once again for a bit of rates relief in the upcoming council budgets. Keep up the good work, Mike.

‘Tiger Woods owes us all an apology’, so says one of his lovers. All the lovers deserve is to be sued by Tiger’s wife. They all knew he is married and who he is. Time for a law change to protect the married man against vultures. It takes two to have an affair.

Hopefully the Riverland Central Plaza can replace those couple of shops and flourish into the future (The Pioneer, 7/4/10). We need Berri to be a strong shopping hub. I think rent relief for shop owners would be a great idea. I don’t buy the excuses the plaza’s management give for not being able to do that, simply because if many more shops pull out, the plaza will go down the gurgler. How much rent money will management collect then? It’s a no-brainer.

Help! I’m being invaded by grasshoppers (The Pioneer, 7/4/10) and they’ve just been getting worse all week.

Great to see other sports, like netball, soccer and hockey judging by your cover, are getting a mention in The Pioneer’s Winter Sports Guide next week. Can’t wait for my copy.
